My main objective was to produce a set of multi-functional products inspired by the theme ‘Purple Haze’. The products designed include a cupboard, a desk, shelves, a stool, a chair and stairs. These products target university students since many of them do not have the required budget or lack the necessary space to purchase six individual products. I therefore decided to create unique and space-saving products at an affordable price. Each of the designs encompasses a De Stijl inspired pattern with blue and purple shades, in line with my purple haze theme. These analogous colours will satisfy all gender preferences. The products are easy to transform and create smart space-saving solutions to address space problems faced by students.

All products will be made out of plywood which is environmentally friendly, strong and durable to ensure that students will be able to enjoy and use them for a long time. All products will be batch produced since this process will secure a cheaper manufacturing price. The colour will be added using automated spray painting followed by a coat of spray-on latex to seal the colour and create a glossy and visually attractive finish.
